The California PBIS Recognition System honors schools that demonstrate successful implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), an evidence-based framework designed to support students’ social, emotional and behavioral needs while fostering safe and positive school climates.
Schools throughout California may earn Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum recognition based on their implementation of PBIS practices aligned with the national framework. Nearly 2,700 schools received recognition across all levels for the 2025–26 school year.
Gold recognition for Washington and Jefferson reflects the ongoing work of faculty, staff, students and families to build school communities where students feel supported and have the opportunity to thrive.
