Volunteer Opportunities

There are many ways to be an involved parent. Taking a daily, personal interest in the work your child is doing, bringing them to school every day on time and supporting our teachers, staff and programs are the best ways to be involved, even if you haven’t the time to attend the many events that happen throughout the year. Spending quality time with your children on the weekends and after school, closely monitoring their phone, TV, iPad and computer use at home, and teaching and modeling personal responsibility will make a world of difference in your child’s life.

 

Your active, positive support of our school, teachers, staff and programs help us to do our very best job serving your children. We have a very active and involved PTA at Washington School. Our PTA provides many services to our school and invaluable opportunities to all children. Contact our PTA President at [email protected] for further information. Keep a close eye on the calendar of events, our website calendar, the marquee in front of the school and other communication from our school and PTA. Parents can become involved at Washington school in ways other than PTA too. We have a School Site Council (SSC) committee that meets regularly throughout the year. SSC is composed of staff and parents who help set the direction for the school. Parents who would like to help at school are always welcome. If you are able to volunteer time to Washington School, let us know because we want you! Please know that TB clearance is required for all volunteers, including volunteers helping on field trips. Volunteers need to be cleared each school year so please make sure you come to learn more about this process and any updated policies and procedures about this with our school.
